Pakistani cricketer Ahmed Shehzad has commented on the recent social media posts made by the Pakistani team members in support of fast bowler Haris Rauf. He suggested that the same energy used for supporting Rauf should have been directed towards apologizing to the nation for their poor performance in the T20 World Cup. This came after a video surfaced showing Haris Rauf in a confrontation with a fan, who allegedly made offensive remarks about his parents.

Haris Rauf explained that while fans have the right to criticize his performance, comments about his family are unacceptable. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi also demanded that the fan apologize to Rauf, and several national players condemned the incident in strong terms.

Ahmed Shehzad, through his social media, emphasized the importance of accountability and suggested that players should have expressed remorse for their World Cup performance instead of vacationing abroad. He stressed that the narrative should not be changed by these posts and that the players owe an explanation to the fans for their disappointing performance. Shehzad also pointed out that the same group of players has not achieved significant success for Pakistan over the past five years, focusing more on personal milestones rather than collective success.
