In the ICC T20 World Cup's Super 8 stage opener, South Africa secured a win against the USA by 18 runs. The match, held in Antigua, North Sound, saw South Africa setting a target of 195 runs after being invited to bat first by the USA, who won the toss.

The start was shaky for South Africa, losing their first wicket at a score of 16. However, Quinton de Kock and captain Aiden Markram steadied the innings with a formidable 110-run partnership. De Kock was the standout performer, scoring an impressive 74 runs, while Markram contributed a valuable 46 runs.
Heinrich Klaasen added a quick 36 runs, remaining not out, to push the team's total to a competitive 194 for 4 in their 20 overs.
On the bowling front, the USA's Saurabh Netravalkar and Harmeet Singh managed to claim two wickets each, restricting South Africa from posting an even larger total.

In response, the USA's chase began with some promise but soon faltered. They lost their first wicket at 33 runs and soon found themselves struggling at 5 wickets down for just 56 runs. Notable contributions came from Monank Patel (33 runs) and Marty Kain (8 runs), but the middle order crumbled under pressure.
A spirited 91-run partnership for the sixth wicket between Andries Gous and Harmeet Singh brought some hope to the USA camp. Gous remained unbeaten on a valiant 80 runs, while Singh added 38 runs before being caught out.
Despite their efforts, the USA fell short, finishing their innings at 176 for 6 in 20 overs, 18 runs shy of the target.
Kagiso Rabada was the pick of the bowlers for South Africa, claiming three crucial wickets to derail the USA's chase.
