During the Super Eight stage of the T20 World Cup, Australia and Bangladesh faced off in the 44th match of the event at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium in Antigua. Australia defeated Bangladesh by 28 runs, with Australia batting first and scoring 140 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Captain Najmul Hasan contributed 41 runs and Mahmudullah scored 40 runs.
Pat Cummins delivered a splendid bowling performance for Australia, taking 3 wickets for 29 runs. Cummins achieved a hat-trick by dismissing Mahmudullah, Mehidy Hasan, and Tohid Hridoy on consecutive deliveries in one over.
It is noteworthy that this is the first hat-trick by any bowler in the ongoing T20 World Cup in America and the West Indies. Pat Cummins becomes the second Australian bowler after Brett Lee to accomplish a hat-trick in the T20 World Cup.
