Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins made history in the ICC T20 World Cup by securing his second consecutive hat-trick. In the Super 8 stage match against Afghanistan, Cummins dismissed Karim Janat, Rashid Khan, and Gulbadin Naib, all caught out, achieving this remarkable feat.
Previously, Cummins had also taken a hat-trick against Bangladesh in a match held on Thursday. He became the seventh player to achieve a hat-trick in the T20 World Cup. Notably, his hat-trick against Bangladesh was the first of the ongoing T20 World Cup in the USA and West Indies, and Cummins is the second Australian bowler after Brett Lee to accomplish a hat-trick in the T20 World Cup.
Despite Cummins' outstanding performance, Australia faced a 21-run defeat against Afghanistan, marking Afghanistan's first-ever win against Australia in any format.
