Tanzim Hasan Sakib has been found guilty of violating the ICC Code of Conduct at Level 1 and has been fined 15% of his match fee. The International Cricket Council (ICC) imposed this penalty on the Bangladeshi fast bowler for inappropriate behavior towards Nepal's captain, Rohit Paudel.
According to an ICC statement on Wednesday, during Nepal's innings in a T20 World Cup match, Tanzim Hasan Sakib approached Rohit Paudel aggressively after delivering the ball at the end of the third over, displaying inappropriate conduct.
Tanzim Hasan Sakib admitted his offense and accepted the penalty. In addition to the fine, he has received one demerit point on his disciplinary record, marking his first offense within a 24-month period.
Notably, Bangladesh qualified for the Super Eight stage of the T20 World Cup with a 21-run victory over Nepal in a Group D match held on Sunday in Saint Vincent. Tanzim Hasan Sakib was named Man of the Match for his outstanding bowling performance, taking 4 wickets for just 7 runs in his four overs, which included two maiden overs.
